Our neighborhood

After my eye doctor appointment the other day, I took a little walk to get some iced coffee at a cafe up the block and took a nice stroll down my street on that rare day where the sky was completely gorgeous all day.  The beauty of where I live now is just growing on me more and more.

It is such a shame that the "May Gray" and "June Gloom" ruins two of my favorite months!  This is a weird phenomenon in Southern California during the summer months where the air is warm but the ocean is too cold so it creates a marine layer of fog and clouds that makes its way from the ocean to land.  So it will be foggy and cloudy just about every day until about 1pm.  The sun's warmth will then evaporate the moisture in the air and the skies will clear up.  Then at about sunset, another marine layer will make its way to land again!  Womp womp.

Well, in other news... earlier this week, Matt got me some gorgeous roses that just recently bloomed.  They were a gift as a "Non-Mother's Day" thing to help me not feel left out.   Naturally, I yelled at him because I obviously am not a mother yet, but a girl can't really complain too long about receiving flowers. ha.
