San Clemente was in the news this week from something so bizarre. Some woman from San Clemente was on the beach this week picking up rocks, as many people do, when the rocks spontaneously combusted or something and all of a sudden burst into flames in her pocket! She got third degree burns and ended up in the hospital. Scientests found out that there was phosporus in the rocks she picked up, which heated up and ended up catching fire in her shorts.
Now I'm left wondering if the nearby nuclear power plant has anything to do with it! So weird...

| You can't really see from this photo I took, but on the beaches here in San Clemente, there are areas where hundreds of little rocks wash up and they are gathered all together in random spots along the beach. |
