When I first read The Hunger Games (written by Suzanne Collins) a few years ago, it had barely made its mark on the bestsellers lists and was yet to be a complete trilogy. I flew through the first book, so much so that I didn't even put a dent on the book's spine. I loved it so much I tried telling everyone about it but had a hard time convincing grown adults to invest their time in reading this "young adult" novel about a society that had their own reality show about kids competing to the death. I mean, that didn't stop the trilogy from catching on by other word of mouth and being on every bestseller list for the past couple of years.
I wondered if it would even be able to become a movie considering the content of the plot. I mean, how many people would feel comfortable watching a bunch of kids killing each other...? Needless to say, Hollywood found a way and definitely took advantage to hop on the Hunger Games bandwagon to make millions of dollars. And now that the movie hype has EXPLODED, I feel like I am the one hopping on the bandwagon even though I've already been on the bandwagon for years now. I am keeping my fingers crossed hoping that they did the books justice!

Did you watch the movie yet?? I lovvvvvved it, now i'm going to hop on the bandwagon and read the books -_-
ReplyDeleteYes, definitely read them! They're so fast paced and you'll probably be done with them in no time.
