a new start

So, I decided to start this blog on blogger/blogspot (what is it even called?! lol) in place of my tumblr account.  It seemed like most people on tumblr only repost other people's photos, and is mostly a picture-based website.  I felt weird writing anything lengthy on it because no one really does. 

Hopefully, now that I have a "real" blog, I can get into the habit of writing about my daily housewife adventures.  I also hope to use this as an excuse to take more pictures so I have something to write about as well.  One would think that with the ease of a portable camera on my iPhone, one would take more photos, but not me.  Good thing Matt & I have an awesome cross-country road trip out to California soon!  I will have plenty to write about and take photos of then :)

In other news, my brother flies into Jacksonville tomorrow and then we will pack up all our stuff down here to drive back up north together on Sunday (since no one seems to think I can drive 10+ hrs by myself... ha).  I can't believe how quickly 4 months flew by... and with me doing nothing! I'm a little upset with myself since I didn't even really get to do much in North Carolina, especially since I moved down here for "the experience".  At least I was able to learn how to cook!

California should be a whole different world and I am keeping my fingers crossed that I can find a job out there.  I know I am married and all that "what's yours is mine" stuff applies, but I feel so guilty asking Matt for money to pay all the bills.  After working and being financially independent for so long, it is so weird not being able to shop and freely do things with a steady paycheck.  Once I do start getting a paycheck though, Matt & I will be living quite comfortably and will be able to buy a house!  I think that is the one thing I am most excited about in the near future... we will finally have a home to call our own!
